Do you have a vehilce service contract,  extended warranty, and want to cancel it? There are several reasons why would cancel an extended warranty. Either you have lost interest or you sold the vehicle. Don’t fear the cancellation process. It is a simple task, that takes just a few steps.

If you have lost interest in the contract, you can call up your extended warranty company. They will give you instructions on how to go about cancelling the warranty. Usually, they will send you a cancellation form that you must sign in order to cancel your warranty. With most companies, if you cancel within 30-60 days you will receive a full refund. For specific cancellation time limits, consult your contract.  If you cancel after that your refund will be prorated based upon the mileage on your vehicle.

If you decided to sell your vehicle, you have several options. If you sell you car to a private party, you can transfer the warranty to the next owner. Offering an extended warranty with the sale of your vehicle give someone an incentive to buy your vehicle over another and it can also be included into the price of the vehicle. If you decided not to transfer, then you can cancel the warranty and get a prorated refund.

Hopefully, you will not need to cancel your extended warranty, but if your do, cancellation is easy. With just a few steps, you can have everything taken care of and your warranty will be cancelled.
