Audi Powertrain Warranty

You are here

The Audi Powertrain Warranty includes those components that fall within the realm of the new car limited warranty. This warranty covers any repairs made due to manufacturer defect or workmanship. The powertrain warranty includes components of the engine, transmission, transaxle, and both rear-wheel and front-wheel drive systems. The Audi powertrain warranty begins at the first date of delivery to the new owner (in-service date) or the first date of use.

What is Covered under the Audi Powertrain Warranty?

Under the Audi powertrain warranty,  the engine and most components such as the cylinder block and head and all internal parts, timing gears and gaskets, timing chain or belt and cover, flywheel, valve covers, oil pan, oil pump, intake and exhaust manifolds, engine mounts. If there is a turbocharger, the housing and all internal parts, plus the engine/powertrain control module, water pump, fuel pump, seals, and gaskets are also covered. There is also a transmission and transaxle warranty under the Audi powertrain warranty. This includes the case and all internal parts, the torque converter, transfer case and all internal parts, transmission/powertrain control module, seals, and gaskets. Both front wheel and rear wheel drive system are included as well. This encompasses components of both including the final drive housing and all internal parts, driveshafts, constant velocity joints, front hubs and bearings, seals and gaskets.

The Audi powertrain warranty covers the components listed above. For a complete list of what is not covered under the powertrain warranty, look under the "What is Not Covered Section" of the Audi warranty booklet.

How Long is the Audi Powertrain Warranty?

All powertrain components are covered under the Audi factory warranty which is 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty is transferable from one Audi owner to the next with very little work needed on the part of the previous owner. Also, there is no limit on the number of owners the vehicle can have in order for the warranty to be valid.

Audi does not offer extended powertrain coverage, but there are extended auto car warranties available that will extend the powertrain coverage beyond the Audi factory warranty coverage.
