BMW Corrosion Warranty

You are here

The BMW corrosion warranty protects against any rust-through, or perforation, on the vehicle body. It will cover the cost of repairs to rust-through that are caused by manufacturer defect or workmanship. The BMW corrosion warranty begins the day the vehicle is delivered to it's firs owner (in-service date) or the first date of use.

What Does the BMW Corrosion Warranty Cover?

Under the BMW corrosion warranty, any repairs to rust though on the body of the vehicle are covered if the rust is due to manufacturer defect or workmanship. Once rust is discovered on the vehicle body, it must be taken to a BMW authorized service center. Then BMW will decided whether to repair the rust or replace the part. The BMW corrosion warranty covers what is listed above.

For items that are not covered please refer to the "What is Not Covered" section of the warranty booklet.

How Long is the BMW Corrosion Warranty? The BMW corrosion warranty applies for 12 years regardless of mileage. This warranty is also transferable with little or no work needed on the part of the previous BMW owners. Also, the BMW corrosion warranty has no limits on the number of owners the vehicle can have in order for the warranty to be valid.

*The BMW Corrosion Warranty information was obtained from the 2011 BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty booklet. For the latest information please advise the BMW Corrosion Warranty section of your warranty booklet.
