The Buick powertrain limited warranty covers components of the engine, transmission, transaxle, transfer case, and drive systems. The Buick powertrain limited warranty covers repairs needed to the powertrain due to manufacturer defect or workmanship and begins the day of delivery to the first owner (in-service date) or the first day of use and ends with the time and/or mileage limit. There are extedended auto warranties that will extend the powertrain coverage after the Buick owertrain warranty expires.

What Is Covered Under the Buick Powertrain Limited Warranty?

The Buick limited powertrain warranty covers components of the engine including the cylinder head, block, timing gears, timing chain, timing cover, oil pump and oil pump housing, along with OHC carriers, valve covers, oil pan, seals, gaskets. Engines with a turbocharger, or supercharger and all internal lubricated parts as well as manifolds, flywheel, water pump, harmonic balancer and engine mount are covered as well. Timing belts are also covered until the first scheduled maintenance. The transmission, transaxle, and transfer case portion of the powertrain warranty covers the case, all internal lubricated parts, torque converter, transmission/transaxle mounts, seals, and gaskets. The drive systems encompasses rear wheel and front wheel drive and includes components such as the final drive housing, all internal lubricated parts, axle shafts and bearings, constant velocity joints, axle housing, propeller shafts, universal joints, wheel bearings, locking hubs, front differential actuator, supports, front and rear hub bearings, seals and gaskets. The Buick limited powertrain warranty also includes a courtesy transportation program. If the vehicle needs repairs that are due to manufacturer defect or workmanship, Buick will provide transportation while your vehicle is being repaired.

How Long is the Buick Powertrain Limited Warranty?

The Buick powertrain warranty applies for 5 years or 100,000, whichever comes first and begins the day of delivery to the first owner, or the day of first use. An optional extended warranty is available that will cover repair cost to the vehicle after the Buick factory warranty has expired. Most extended warranties have different levels of coverage from standard to comprehensive to suit the needs of the Buick owner.

2006 Buick models have a powertrain warranty that is valid for 4 years or 50,000 miles and the powertrain warranty on 2005 and older models applies for 3 years and 36,000 years, whichever comes first.
