Chevrolet Basic Warranty

You are here

When a new Chevrolet vehicle is purchased, it comes with a standard bumper-to-bumper warranty. The Chevrolet basic, or bumper-to-bumper warranty covers repairs to most components to the vehicle if the repair needed is due to a manufacturer defect or workmanship. The Chevrolet basic warranty begins the day the vehicle is delivered to the first owner (in-service date) or the first date of use.

What is Covered Under the Chevrolet Basic Warranty?

Under the Chevrolet basic warranty, most components of the vehicle are covered. If a repair is needed to any part covered under the basic warranty, there will be no cost to the customer. Also if the vehicle is inoperable due to a mechanical breakdown that is covered under the basic warranty, Chevrolet will tow the vehicle to the nearest GM service center and provide courtesy transportation if needed.

There are restrictions and exclusions to the Chevrolet basic warranty. For a complete list of what is not covered refer to the "What is Not Covered" section of the Chevrolet warranty booklet.

How Long is the Chevrolet Basic Warranty?

The Chevrolet basic warranty applies for 3 years or 30,000 miles, whichever comes first. It begins the day the vehicle is delivered to the first owner or the day of first use. The Chevrolet basic warranty is transferrable from one Chevrolet owner to the next automatically. There is no limit to how many owners the vehicle can have in order for the warranty to be valid.
