The Chevrolet powertrain warranty applies for 5 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. It starts the day the vehicle is delivered to the first owner or the day it is first put into use. This is a transferable warranty. It transfers from one Chevrolet owner to the next without any work form the previous owner needed and there is not a limit to how many owners the vehicle can have in order for the warranty to be valid.

For 2001 thru 2006 Chevrolet models the powertrain warranty applies for 3 years or 36,000 miles, except for the Colbalt and Aveo. The Chevrolet powertrain warranty on those models is a 5 years or 60,000 warranty.

Auto extended auto warrantys are available that will extend the powertrain coverage after the Chevrolet powertrain warranty has expired.
