Car Warranty Companies

You are here

A simple term used by consumers to reference the array of car warranty companies that are available to offer products and services for motor vehicles. Each car warranty company has one thing in common, their core product, a car warranty. However not all companies provide the same service surrounding a car's warranty. There are three types of car warranty companies: those that sell, those that support and then those that insure or financially back the car warranty product:

  • Warranty Broker or Agent - a car dealer, warranty broker or agent will sell you a warranty.
  • Warranty Administrator - a warranty administrator company will handle your car's mechanical breakdown claims after the sale.
  • Warranty Underwriter - an underwriter will assist the administrator in creating the car warranty product and insure the support of the product's financial viability.
