In-Service Date

You are here

An in service date on a vehicle is when the original car warranty started on the vehicle when it was first purchased as a new vehicle. The in service date should not be confused with when the vehicle was originally manufactured, instead think of the in service date as the date that the first consumer drove the vehicle off the dealerships parking lot.

Unlike some car manufacturers, Oldsmobile does not offer a separate powertrain warranty. Repairs needed to the components of the powertrain, such as the engine, transmission, transaxle, and drive train systems, are covered under the Oldsmobile limited factory warranty if the failures are due to manufacturer defects or workmanship. The powertrain and its components are covered for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first and begins the date the vehicle is delivered to first owner (in-service date) or the date of first use.

Volkswagen Corrosion Warranty

It will cover the cost of repairs to rust-through that are caused by manufacturer defect or workmanship. The Volkswagen corrosion warranty begins the day the vehicle is delivered to it's firs owner (in-service date) or the first date of use.
