When a new GMC vehicle is purchased, it comes with a standard bumper-to-bumper warranty. The GMC basic, or bumper-to-bumper warranty covers repairs to most components to the vehicle if the repair needed is due to a manufacturer defect or workmanship. The GMC basic warranty begins the day the vehicle is delivered to the first owner (in-service date) or the first date of use.

What is Covered Under the GMC Basic Warranty?

Under the GMC basic warranty, most components of the vehicle, including tires and batteries, are covered. Also covered is surface corrosion, adjustments, alternate transportation, and towing. If a repair is needed to any part covered under the basic warranty, there will be no cost to the customer. Also if the vehicle is inoperable due to a mechanical breakdown that is covered under the basic warranty, GMC will cover the cost of towing the vehilce to the nearest GMC dealership.

How Long is the GMC Basic Warranty?

The GMC basic warranty applies for 3 years or 30,000 miles, whichever comes first. It begins the day the vehicle is delivered to the first owner or the day of first use. The GMC basic warranty is transferrable from one GMC owner to the next automatically. There is no limit to how many owners the vehicle can have in order for the warranty to be valid.
