Hummer Powertrain Warranty

You are here

The Hummer powertrain warranty is an extension of the new vehicle limited warranty. It includes the components of the engine, transmission, transaxle, transfer case, and drive systems. It covers any repairs to the powertrain if the failure of the part was due to manufacturer defect or workmanship. The Hummer powertrain warranty begins the on date of delivery to the first owner or the first date of use.

What is Covered Under the Hummer Powertrain Warranty?

Under the Hummer powertrain warranty the engine and it's components including all internally lubricated parts, cylinder head, block, timing gears, timing chain, and timing cover, oil pump and oil pump housing, OHC carriers, valve covers, oil pan, seals, gaskets, manifolds, flywheel, water pump, harmonic balancer, engine mounts, and starter motor. If the vehicle comes with a turbocharger, it and the supercharger, plus all internally lubricated parts,  are covered as well. Also timing belts are covered up to the first scheduled maintenance. The transmission, transaxle, and transfer case warranties encompass the case, and all internal lubricated parts, the torque converter, transfer case, transmission and/or transaxle mounts, seals and gaskets. The drive system warranty includes components such as all of the internally lubricated parts, final-drive housings, axle shafts and bearings, constant velocity joints, propeller shafts and universal joints.

What is listed above is what is covered by the Hummer powertrain warranty. For what is not covered refer to the "What is Not Covered" section of your warranty booklet.

How Long is the Hummer Powertrain Warranty?

The Hummer powertrain warranty applies for 5 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. It starts the day the vehicle is delivered to the first owner or the day it is first put into use. This is a transferable warranty. It transfers from one Hummer owner to the next without any work form the previous owner needed and there is not a limit to how many owners the vehicle can have in order for the warranty to be valid.

For 2006 Hummer models the powertrain is covered for 4 years or 50,000 miles and 2003 thru 2005 models, the powertrain warranty is valid for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Extended auto warrantys are available that will extend the powertrain coverage after the Hummer powertrain warranty has expired.
