Lexus Powertrain Warranty

You are here

The Lexus Powertrain Warranty is an extension of the Lexus factory warranty. The Lexus powertrain warranty covers any repairs made to the components of the engine, transmission, transaxle, and drive systems if the failure is caused by a  manufacturer defect or workmanship. The Lexus powertrain warranty begins at the first date of delivery to the new owner (in-service date) or the first date of use.

What is Covered under the Lexus Powertrain Warranty?

Under the Lexus powertrain warranty,  the engine and most components such as the cylinder block and head and all internal parts, flywheel, the timing belt and cover, oil pan, water pump, fuel pump, engine mounts, engine control computer, seals and gaskets. There is also a transmission and transaxle warranty under the Lexus powertrain warranty. This includes the case and all internal parts, the torque converter, clutch cover, mounts, engine control computer, seals and gaskets. The front wheel drive system warranty includes the driveshaft, axle, hub, bearings, seals and gaskets.

The Lexus powertrain warranty covers the components listed above. For a complete list of what is not covered under the powertrain warranty, look under the "What is Not Covered Section" of the Lexus warranty booklet.

How Long is the Lexus Powertrain Warranty?

The Lexus powertrain warranty applies for 6 years or 70,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty is transferable from one Lexus owner to the next with very little work needed on the part of the previous owner. Also, there is no limit on the number of owners the vehicle can have in order for the warranty to be valid.

If extended coverage is needed there are extended car warranties available that will extend the powertrain coverage beyond the Lexus Powertrain warranty.
