When a new Lincoln is purchased it comes with the Lincoln powertrain warranty as part of the new vehicle factory warranty. It covers the cost of repairs to the engine, transmission and drive systems if the part or parts failed due to a material defect or workmanship. The Lincoln powertrain warranty begins on the day it is delivered to the first owner or the day it is first put into use.

What Is Covered Under the Lincoln Powertrain Warranty?

Under the Lincoln powertrain warranty the engine and it's components, such as the cylinder block, cylinder heads,electrical fuel pump, electronic engine control unit, engine mounts, flywheel, injection pump, intake and exhaust manifolds, bolts,oil pan, oil pump, seals and gaskets, thermostat, thermostat housing, timing chain cover, timing chain along with gears or belts, valve covers, and water pump. If the vehicle comes with a turbocharger, then the turbocharger and supercharger units are covered as well. The transmission warranty covers the transmission and all internal parts, the transmission case, the transfer case and all internal parts, the clutch cover, seals and gaskets, torque converter, transmission mounts.The drive system warranty encompasses components for the front wheel drive and rear wheel drive. These components include the axle shafts, front and rear bearings, center support bearing, drive shafts, final drive housing, hubs-automatic front locking (four-wheel drive), locking rings (four-wheel drive), universal and constant velocity joints, drive axle housing (including all internal parts), drive shaft, propeller shafts, retainers, supports, seals and gaskets.

How Long is The Lincoln Powertrain Warranty?

The Lincoln powertrain warranty is valid for 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. It begins the day the vehicle is delivered to the first owner or the first day it is put into use. The Lincoln powertrain warranty is transferable from one Lincoln owner to the next and there is no limit to how many owner the vehicle can have for the warranty to be valid. 

Lincoln models 2007 thru 2009 have a powertrain warranty that applies for 6 years or 70,000 miles, whichever comes first and 2001 thru 2006 models the powertrain warranty is valid for 4 years or 50,000 miles.

If coverage is desired after the Lincoln powertrain warranty is expired, then an extended car warranty is an option to extend powertrain coverage.
