Mazda Powertrain Warranty

You are here

The Mazda Powertrain Warranty includes those components that fall within the realm of the new car limited warranty. This warranty covers any repairs made due to manufacturer defect or workmanship. The powertrain warranty includes components of the engine, transmission, transaxle, and both rear-wheel and front-wheel drive systems. The Mazda powertrain warranty begins at the first date of delivery to the new owner (in-service date) or the first date of use.

What is Covered under the Mazda Powertrain Warranty?

Under the Mazda Powertrain Warranty, the engine, transmission, transaxle, drive systems, and their components are covered if they fail due to a manufacturer defect or workmanship. For RX-8, models 2004 and newer, there is an extended warranty for the rotary engine core and it's components.

The Mazda powertrain warranty covers the components listed above. For a complete list of what is not covered under the powertrain warranty, look under the "What is Not Covered Section" of the Jaguar warranty booklet.

How Long is the Mazda Powertrain Warranty?

The Mazda powertrain warranty  applies for 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. The RX-8 rotary engine core warranty is valid for 8 years or 100,000 miles. The warranty is transferable from one Jaguar owner to the next with very little work needed on the part of the previous owner. Also, there is no limit on the number of owners the vehicle can have in order for the warranty to be valid.

Mazda models 2003 thru 2006, the powertrain waranty applies for 4 years or 50,000 miles, and models 2001 thru 2002 the Mazda powertrain warranty is covered under the factory warranty which is valid for 3 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.

There are extended car warranties available that will extend the coverage beyond the Mazda factory warranty coverage.
