Mercedes-Benz Powertrain Warranty

You are here

The Mercedes-Benz Powertrain Warranty includes those components that fall within the realm of the new car limited warranty. This warranty covers any repairs made due to manufacturer defect or workmanship. The powertrain warranty includes components of the engine, transmission, transaxle, and both rear-wheel and front-wheel drive systems. The Mercedes-Benz powertrain warranty begins at the first date of delivery to the new owner (in-service date) or the first date of use.

What is Covered under the Mercedes-Benz Powertrain Warranty?

Under the Mercedes-Benz Powertrain Warranty, the engine, transmission, transaxle, drive systems, and their components are covered if they fail due to a manufacturer defect or workmanship. The Mercedes-Benz powertrain warranty covers the components listed above. For a complete list of what is not covered under the powertrain warranty, look under the "What is Not Covered Section" of the Mercedes-Benz warranty booklet.

How Long is the Mercedes-Benz Powertrain Warranty?

The Mercedes-Benz powertrain warranty is part of the Mercedes-Benz new vehicle factory warranty which applies for 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty is transferable from one Mercedes-Benz owner to the next with very little work needed on the part of the previous owner. Also, there is no limit on the number of owners the vehicle can have in order for the warranty to be valid.

There are extended car warranties available that will extend powertrain coverage beyond the Mercedes-Benz factory warranty coverage.
