MINI Corrosion Warranty

You are here

The MINI corrosion warranty protects against any rust-through, or perforation, on the vehicle body. It will cover the cost of repairs to rust-through that are caused by manufacturer defect or workmanship. The MINI corrosion warranty begins the day the vehicle is delivered to it's firs owner (in-service date) or the first date of use.

What Does the MINI Corrosion Warranty Cover?

Under the MINI corrosion warranty, any repairs to rust though on the body of the vehicle are covered if the rust is due to manufacturer defect or workmanship. Once rust is discovered on the vehicle body, it must be taken to a BMW authorized service center. Then MINI will decided whether to repair the rust or replace the part. The MINI corrosion warranty covers what is listed above.

For items that are not covered please refer to the "What is Not Covered" section of the warranty booklet.

How Long is the MINI Corrosion Warranty?

The MINI corrosion warranty applies for 12 years regardless of mileage. 2003 and older MINI models have a corrosion warranty on 6 years, unlimited miles. This warranty is also transferable with little or no work needed on the part of the previous MINI owners. Also, the MINI corrosion warranty has no limits on the number of owners the vehicle can have in order for the warranty to be valid.

*The MINI Corrosion Warranty information was obtained from the 2011 MINI New Vehicle Limited Warranty booklet. For the latest information please advise the MINI Corrosion Warranty section of your warranty booklet.
