You are here

Every new Subaru vehicle purchased comes with a limited factory warranty. Part of the factory warranty includes a basic warranty, or commonly know as a bumper-to-bumper warranty. The Subaru basic warranty covers repairs made to the vehicle if the failure is due to a manufacturer defect or workmanship. The Subaru basic warranty begins the day the vehicle is delivered to the first owner (in-service date) or the date of first use.

What is Covered Under the Subaru Basic Warranty?

Under the Subaru basic warranty most components of the vehicle are covered if the fail because of a manufacturer defect or workmanship. Wear and tear items such as wiper blade inserts, brakes pad and/or shoe linings, and clutch linings are covered as well. Also included in the basic warranty is emergency towing. If the Subaru vehicle becomes inoperable due to a part failure that is covered under theSubaru basic warranty, Subaru will pay the cost of towing the vehicle to the nearest Subaru dealership.

The Subaru basic warranty covers what is listed above. For a complete list of what is not covered refer to the Subaru warranty booklet.

How Long is the Subaru Basic Warranty?

The Subaru basic warranty applies for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. That includes the wear and tear items mentioned above. It is transferable from one Subaru owner to the next with no work needed from the previous owner and there is no limit to how many owners the vehicle can have in order for the warranty to be valid.
