The Volvo corrosion warranty, or rust perforation limited warranty, includes repairs to any part of the bodywork that is perforated by corrosion, rust completely through from the inside out. This warranty covers any repairs of corrosion due to manufacturer defect or workmanship. The Volvo corrosion warranty begins at the first date of delivery (in-service date) or the first date of use.

What Is Covered Under The Volvo Corrosion Warranty?

The Volvo Corrosion warranty covers any rust through due to corrosion on any part of the bodywork that is caused by a manufacturer defect or workmanship. It is at Volvo's discretion whether or not to repair or replace the affected bodywork and the repair or replacement must be performed at an authorized Volvo service center. Additional rust proofing measures are not recommend and could void the warranty.

How Long is the Volvo Corrosion Warranty?

The Volvo corrosion warranty applies for 12 years regardless of mileage on models 2005 and newer.  2005 Volvo models require an inspection at 6 years. On Volvo models 2004 and older, the corrosion warranty applies for 8 years.  It begins with the new vehicle limited warranty and starts the first day of ownership or use. The Volvo corrosion warranty is fully transferable from one Volvo owner to next automatically.
