You are here

The cabin air filter keeps dirt and debris from entering the passenger compartment, or cabin, through the climate control system. Since the cabin air filter reduces dust and particles in the cabin, it maintains the reliability of various electronic components.

The most common problem with the cabin air filter is that it becomes clogged with dirt and debris. If it becomes clogged, then it will allow debris into the cabin of the vehicle which will jeopardize the electronic components' performance.

The cabin air filter is not covered under many factory warranties or extended warranties, but there are maintenance plans available that will cover the cost of a cabin air filter replacement. Also, if an electronic component fails die to the lack of maintenance to the cabin air filter, then the electronic component repair will not be covered under warranty.
