A transmission warranty typically provides coverage to all the sealed components within the transmission. Components normally covered under the transmission system include transmission case and all internal parts, torque converter and converter housing, automatic transmission control module, transfer case and all internal parts, seals and gaskets, clutch cover and housing, and electronic transmission controls. The transmission warranty is typically included in the powertrain warranty coverage section of a limited warranty.
The transmission warranty covers any repairs needed to correct defects in materials or workmanship. Some extended service contracts will provide additional coverage to other stated components within the engine, however most limit to the sealed components within the operating system.
