MINI Basic Warranty

You are here

Every new MINI comes with a limited factory warranty. The MINI basic warranty, commonly known as a bumper-to-bumper warranty, covers repairs needed due to manufacturer defect or workmanship. The warranty covers most components of a new MINI and begins the day of delivery to the first owner (in-service date) or the first date of use.

What is Covered Under the MINI Basic Warranty?

The MINI basic warranty covers most components of a new MINI that fail due to manufacturer defect or workmanship. Wiper blade inserts, balancing, and alignment are covered as well, but under a limited warranty. Also, items that are subject to wear and tear or deteriorate due to driving conditions, such as brakes, filters, upholstery, trim, paint finish, drive belts, glass, and similar items are specifically limited to material defects or workmanship.

The MINI basic warranty covers the items mentioned above. For a complete list of items not covered, refer to the "What is Not Covered" section in the BMW warranty booklet.

How Long is the MINI Basic Warranty?

The MINI basic warranty applies for 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty on the wiper blade inserts, balancing, and alignment applies for 2,000 mile. The MINI basic warranty begins on the delivery date or the first day of use. It is also transferable from one MINI owner to the next and there are no limits on how many owners the vehicle can have in order for the warranty to be valid.

*The MINI basic warranty information was obtained from the 2011 MINI New Vehicle Limited Warranty booklet. For the latest information advise the limited warranty section of your warranty booklet.
