Air Conditioning Condenser Replacement

You are here

The air conditioning condenser causes refrigerant vapor to lose it's heat and returns it to the liquid state. Because of it's location, in front of the radiator, it is prone to damage from a collision. An air conditioning condenser replacement is needed when the air condenser no longer turns refrigerant vapor into liquid.

A air conditioning condenser replacement involves special tools and knowledge. It should be performed by trained professional. When replacing the air conditioning condenser, the technician flushes the AC system refrigerant and removes the metal lines to the condenser. Then the condenser is detached from the radiator and the new one installed. Finally the technician replaces the refrigerant.

If an air conditioning condenser replacement is needed due to a collision, then it will not be covered under the manufacturer's factory warranty or the extended auto warranty, if applicable. However, if it fails due to a manufacturer defect or workmanship, then the factory warranty and most extended warranties will cover the cost of replacement.
