A cabin air filter replacement (in-cabin microfilter replacement) is a part of the regular maintenance of some vehicles. The cabin air filter is located either behind the dashboard or in the engine compartment, and prevents dirt, and debris from entering the passenger compartment through the climate control system. .

If the cabin air filter is located behind the dashboard, and in order to perform a cabin filter replacement, it may be necessary to remove the glove box or trim panels beneath the dashboard to gain access to the filter. If the filter is located in the engine compartment, then replacement is usually quick and straightforward.

Manufacturers have their own specifications on when to inspect or replace the cabin air filter; most manufacturers recommend an inspection or replacement every 15,000 to 30,000 miles.
