Mercury Basic Warranty

You are here

With every new Mercury vehicle purchased comes a limited factory warranty. The Mercury basic warranty,  commonly known as a bumper-to-bumper warranty, is part of the factory warranty and covers repairs to the vehicle if the failure was due to a manufacturer defect or workmanship. The Mercury basic warranty begins the day the vehicle is delivered to the first owner (in-service date) or the day of first use.

What is Covered Under the Mercury Basic Warranty?

Under the Mercury basic warranty, most components of the vehicle are covered.   If the vehicle is in need of repair and the part or parts failed due to a manufacturer defect or workmanship, the  Mercury basic warranty will cover the cost of parts and labor. Tires are included too, but they are prorated depending upon the mileage driven. Also depending upon the manufacturer of the tire, there may be an extended warranty for the tires.

The Mercury basic warranty covers what is listed above. For a list of what is not covered, refer to the Mercury warranty booklet.

How Long is the Mercury Basic Warranty?

The Mercury basic warranty applies for 3 years or 36,000 miles. The tire warranty is solely based upon the mileage driven. It is prorated with a maximum of 36,000 miles. The Mercury basic warranty begins the day the vehicle is delivered to the first owner or the first day of use. It is transferable from one Mercury owner to the next with no work needed from the previous owner. There is also no limit to how many owners the vehicle can have in order for the warranty to be valid.
