Ford Basic Warranty

You are here

With every new Ford vehicle purchased comes a limited factory warranty. The Ford basic warranty,  commonly known as a bumper-to-bumper warranty, is part of the factory warranty and covers repairs to the vehicle if the failure was due to a manufacturer defect of workmanship. The Ford basic warranty begins the day the vehicle is delivered to the first owner (in-service date) or the day of first use.

What is Covered Under the Ford Basic Warranty?

Under the Ford basic warranty, most components of the vehicle are covered.   If the vehicle is in need of repair and the part or parts failed due to a manufacturer defect or workmanship, the the Ford basic warranty will cover the cost of parts and labor. Tires are included too, but they are prorated depending upon the mileage drive. Also depending upon the manufacturer of the tire, there may be an extended warranty for the tires.

The Ford basic warranty covers what is listed above. For a list of what is not covered, refer to the Ford warranty booklet.

How Long is the Ford Basic Warranty?

The Ford basic warranty applies for 3 years or 36,000 miles. The tire warranty is solely based upon the mileage driven. It is prorated with a maximum of 36,000 miles. The Ford basic warranty begins the day the vehicle is delivered to the first owner or the first day of use. It is transferable from one Ford owner to the next with no work needed from the previous owner. There is also no limit to how many owners the vehicle can have in order for the warranty to be valid.
