Every new Hyundai comes with a limited factory warranty. The Hyundai basic warranty, commonly known as a bumper-to-bumper warranty, covers repairs needed due to manufacturer defect or workmanship. The warranty covers most components of a new Hyundai and begins the day of delivery to the first owner (in-service date) or the first date of use.

What is Covered Under the Hyundai Basic Warranty?

The Hyundai basic warranty covers most components of a new Hyundai that fail due to manufacturer defect or workmanship including audio systems. Also  items that are subject to wear and tear or deteriorate due to driving conditions, such as brakes, filter, bulbs, fuses, paint finish, drive belts, glass, and batteries are covered but under a separate limited warranty.

The Hyundai basic warranty covers the items mentioned above. For a complete list of items not covered, refer to the "What is Not Covered" section in the Hyundai warranty booklet.

How Long is the Hyundai Basic Warranty?

The Hyundai basic warranty applies for 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty on paint is valid for 3 years regardless of mileage and warranty for batteries is valid for 3 years or 36,000 miles and the wear and tear items warranty is 1 year 12,000 miles.  The Hyundai basic warranty begins on the delivery date or the first day of use.
