Nissan Basic Warranty

You are here

When a new Nissan vehicle is purchased it comes with a new vehicle limited factory warranty. The Nissan basic warranty,  or bumper-to-bumper warranty, is part of the limited factory warranty. It covers the cost of repairs needed to the vehicle if the part or parts fail due to a manufacturer defect or workmanship. The Nissan basic warranty begins the day the vehicle is delivered to the first owner (in-service date) or the first day of use.

What is Covered Under the Nissan Basic Warranty?

Under the Nissan basic warranty most components of the vehicle are covered, excluding wear and tear items. If any of the components listed fail due to manufacturer defect or workmanship, the Nissan basic warranty will not only cover the costs of repairs, but they will also tow the Nissan vehicle to the nearest Nissan dealership if the vehicle is inoperable.

The Nissan basic warranty covers what is listed above. For a list of what is not covered refer to the "What is Not Covered" section of the Nissan warranty booklet.

How Long is the Nissan Basic Warranty?

The Nissan basic warranty applies for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. It begins the day the vehicle is delivered to the first owner or the first day it is put into use. The Nissan basic warranty can be transferred to one Nissan owner to the next with no limit on the number of owners the vehicle can have in order for the warranty to be valid.
