Volkswagen Factory Warranty

With every Volkswagen vehicle purchased comes a new vehicle limited factory warranty. The Volkswagen factory warranty comes with a standard bumper-to-bumper warranty, a powertrain warranty, and a corrosion warranty. Volkswagen does not offer a roadside assistance program with their factory warranty. The Volkswagen factory warranty covers needed repairs to the vehicle if the failure is due to a manufacturer defect or workmanship. The Volkswagen factory warranty begins the day the vehicle is delivered to the first owner (in-service date) or the day of first use.

The Volkswagen basic, or bumper-to-bumper, warranty encompasses most components of the vehicle. Repair cost are covered if the part or parts fail due to manufacturer defect or workmanship. It applies for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. The Volkswagen powertrain warranty includes the engine, transmission, transaxle, drive systems and their components. For most Volkswagen vehicles the powertrain warranty is valid for 5 years or 60,000 miles. The 2011 Touareg has a 10 year or 100,000 miles. The Volkswagen corrosion warranty will repair or replace any body sheet metal panel that has signs of rust through due to normal use of the vehicle for 12 years with no mileage limit. The Cabrio has a corrosion warranty of 6 years regardless of mileage. While Volkswagen does not offer a roadside assistance program with the factory warranty, extended auto warranties are available that have roadside assistance.
